Alumni: If you have completed The Yoga Teacher Training YTT 200 with Holly Fiske, you are automatically accepted into the 300 hr Program and qualify for the Alumni Discount of $300 off. If you are interested in doing the YTT 200 followed by the YTT 300 - the next 200 program begins February.
Content: If you have taken the YTT 200, the content format is similar: A beautiful, interactive, digital teacher training manual. The manual is incredibly content rich and a fun exploration into learning and application. It will be a continual resource for you to utilize for years to come.
Unique: This program is powerful because it is SELF empowering not only for you as the teacher but what you will pass forward. The tools and techniques you will be equipped with give individuals the ability to improve their life, sport and the things that bring them joy without a membership or expensive equipment. You will have the knowledge to pass down this empowerment to anyone with the desire to learn and apply, so that they can take it home with them and see you as needed. This is a life changing practice.
Lifestyle + Lifespan: What makes people tick? What is the motivation and the drive? Of course there is family, friends, community and our work BUT for a huge part of the population it is activity. It may vary in variety but almost everyone has SOMETHING they need to DO to feel alive. Often they have someone else’s activity that is just as important to them as their own. Perhaps a child in school sports or a partner with an active or athletic drive. The motivation to help others is a part of why we become teachers. When it comes to functionality in our active lifestyles we have to consider lifespan as well. Simply put, this means being able to do what we love, as well as possible, as long as possible. This starts right away in developmental stages. These early stages are more important now than ever. With the effects of technology, sitting and not enough walking the slouch and slump epidemic has begun. The lifespan portion of this course has the goal of getting ahead of the problem, teaching teens how to combat the potential aftermath. Prepare so we can avoid repair. This is the building component. On the flip side, as we age we want to maintain. Injury is incredibly counterproductive and can also be life altering. The longer we live the more amazing opportunities we have to use our body and the more likely it is that we will have set backs, unforeseen and even unavoidable injuries. Recovery is our final component in the Build, Maintain and Recover philosophy.
Active + Athletic: More specific to activities and sports, we will look at individual and group sports so that you are equipped with how to build, maintain and recover from individual passions and pursuits be it hiking, running, biking etc or basketball, soccer, baseball and so on. Each passion requires a different functional design. This course and manual will help you navigate through individual athletic pursuits. We want people to be able to do what they love - because that’s their purpose in living. Our job is to help them not only develop a body and mind ready to battle, but maintain that and continue it with longevity and to know how to bounce back when life throws you curve balls.
Lead Teacher:
Hi, my name is Holly Fiske. I am a registered Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist. I have completed 700 hours of training in Orthopedics with Yoga Medicine. I have completed 200 hours of various trainings (prenatal, postnatal, Sanskrit, trapeze, etc) outside of Yoga Medicine. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Sport Management and am currently in pursuit of my Master’s Degree in Education with endorsements in Health and Fitness. I also am a certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. I coach youth basketball. I grew up living and loving team sports. At my 4A high school in Washington State I played 4 varsity sports every year of high school. Every year of high school, I went to state for basketball and pole vaulting. I finished my basketball high school career making First Team All League and with a shoe box of recruit letters from colleges and breaking the school record for pole vaulting. Now, I am an active adult who enjoys running, cycling, hiking, snowboarding, paddle boarding, yoga and of course watching and coaching my kids as they participate in their passions and sports. I dabble in surfing and bouldering time to time as well. I am surrounded by an active extended family growing up and also some growing old and an active community in a small mountain town. I consider it my calling to help and motivate others to live long, active, healthy and happy lives to their fullest.
